A 49-year-old Arizona father is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly launching a horrific, multi-stage attack that claimed the life of his pregnant wife inside their family home in Vail, according to local law enforcement authorities and court documents.

The suspect, identified as Joseph Clark, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after he reportedly walked out of his residence in the 17000 block of South Ridgerunner Drive and contacted emergency services to report that he had killed his wife. The victim was identified as 39-year-old Noelle Clark, who court records indicate was in her second or third trimester and carrying the couple’s third child.

According to charging documents obtained from local news outlets, the brutal sequence of events unfolded in the children’s bedroom of the family’s home. Investigators believe that Joseph Clark began physically assaulting his wife in the shared bedroom, utilizing a belt that was later recovered by police at the scene. Examination of the victim’s body revealed severe whip marks that matched the recovered belt.

As the violent confrontation escalated, the attack intensified. Police stated that Joseph Clark stabbed his wife in the chest during the assault in the children’s room, leaving behind a significant pool of blood and the weapon used in the attack.

Despite the severity of the initial assault, the attack did not stop there. Investigators revealed that Clark subsequently dragged his wife’s lifeless or gravely injured body through the interior of the house and out into the family’s garage. In what police described as an effort to ensure she was dead, Clark allegedly ran over his wife with the family vehicle inside the enclosed space. Crime scene technicians later identified distinct tire marks across Noelle Clark’s arms, alongside bloody tire impressions left on the concrete floor of the garage.

Following the arrival of law enforcement, responding officers secured the scene and discovered Noelle Clark’s body wrapped in a blanket inside the garage. Amid the horrific aftermath of the crime, officers located the couple’s two young children, ages 2 and 5, unharmed on the stairs inside the residence. The children were immediately placed under protective care while authorities initiated their investigation.

As authorities processed the gruesome crime scene, they uncovered physical evidence indicating that Clark had formulated plans to dispose of his wife’s body following the homicide. The scope of the preparations further underscored the premeditated nature of the horrifying actions that shook the quiet Vail community.

Upon being taken into custody, Joseph Clark made a series of wild and unverified assertions to law enforcement regarding the dynamics of his marriage. During questioning, he claimed that his wife had subjected him to systematic torture over the course of several years. Specifically, Clark alleged that she had tortured and electrically shocked him to such an extreme degree that all of his teeth had supposedly "popped out from being zapped." However, responding officers and medical personnel noted that there were no signs of physical injuries, trauma, or medical abnormalities consistent with his bizarre claims.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and local prosecutors have formally charged Joseph Clark in connection with the horrific incident. Court records show that he faces two counts of second-degree murder stemming from the death of his wife and their unborn child.

Following his arrest and initial court appearance, Clark’s bond was established at $1 million, according to Pima County jail records. The investigation into the tragic incident remains ongoing as local authorities continue to process evidence and prepare for upcoming court proceedings in the case.
